DAWDLING ballboys have cost Croatia's Hajduk Split a fine of US$15,000 for time-wasting in their European Champions' League match against Anderlecht on October 19.

UEFA, European soccer's ruling body, turned down Hajduk's appeal against the fine which was imposed by UEFA's Disciplinary Committee.

A statement from UEFA confirmed the club were being fined for unsporting conduct - specifically time-wasting by the ballboys - in the last 20 minutes of the match against Anderlecht. Hajduk won the game 2-1.
