At school he is on the athletics team, which took the boys' team title at the 2010/11 Inter-school Athletics Championships (Hong Kong Island and Kowloon) Division One. Soundbite 'I was skinny, and short for my age and didn't look strong. Many people thought I was a junior secondary student even when I was in Form Four and they couldn't tell I was an athlete. It was upsetting when people told my teammates they were surprised to hear I was competing overseas,' Vicko says.
'But things are getting better. I had a growth spurt last year and I'm now more than 1.7 metres tall and more muscular. Before, my build affected my confidence and held me back in cycling because I didn't have the muscle power. I've been working really hard in the gym so that I can perform better.
