Teenage sisters overdose on pills

TWO sisters aged 14 and 15 were in comas last night after swallowing a large quantity of sleeping pills.

Police found a suicide note written by the 15-year-old in their Yue Shun House flat in Chai Wan.

The girl reportedly wrote to her mother that she was sorry she had done something wrong and could not face the future.

Another sister, 17, told police that when the 15-year-old returned home on Sunday night she claimed she had been sexually assaulted by her boyfriend's uncle.

The girl did not identify the boyfriend nor her attacker or where the rape had taken place.

She also said she had swallowed 50 sleeping pills.

The youngest sister then became upset and also took a large number of sleeping tablets.

The police were called, but both girls were unconscious by the time detectives arrived.

They were taken to Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital and were admitted in a poor condition.

The girls' mother was not in the flat at the time of the incident.
