They may look a bit frightening on your skin, but mud/ clay masks are great for deep-cleaning and invigorating skin.

L'Occitane Riz Rice Clarifying Rice Mask (HK$240/ 75ml)

This creamy mask manages to get right under the skin, leaving it feeling deeply cleansed and hydrated. The handy design is an added bonus.

Jericho Purifying Mud Mask (HK$295/100ml)

Natural ingredients such as avocado oil, honey and Dead Sea mud mean you don't feel like you're coating your face in chemicals. Despite being very grainy and thick, it washes off easily, leaving skin soft and replenished.

Kiehl's Rare Earth Deep Pore Cleansing Masque (HK$200/45g)

This wonderful product helps to purify and detoxify skin. Amazonian White Clay draws out oil, dirt and toxins that can clog pores, while oatmeal and aloe vera soothe and hydrate the skin.

Aveda Deep Cleansing Herbal Clay Masque (HK$260/125g)

You only need a little of this thick, fragrant mask to leave your skin feeling fresh and clean. Helps dry out spots. It's a bit of a pain to remove, though, so use a clean flannel.

Orbis Oil Cut Mineral Clay Mask (HK$189/100g)

This fragrance-free mask feels sticky when applied. Once it's washed away, it leaves skin smooth, tight and refreshed. Not suitable for dry skin.
