Zac Purton has built up a full head of steam riding winners, and the Sean Woods-trained griffin Full Tank might be an omen that the talented Australian rider still has plenty more to offer this term. Purton has steadily picked his way through the jockeys' premiership to sit a comfortable fourth with 46 victories behind Douglas Whyte (84), Brett Prebble (68) and Darren Beadman (51). Full Tank was heavily supported and set the tone for the afternoon in saluting as favourite, but his backers had to endure a nail biting short head finish on the line. 'He has done a good job, it's never easy for a young horse to draw the widest gate in a small field.'
