Keeping track of your schedule, when you're on a shift-job can be a nightmare - just ask anyone in the hotel industry. Thankfully, there's a slew of mobile applications out there to help ease the burden.
Among these, 'Shift Worker' is one of the more noteworthy. Its colourful and heavily customisable interface in particular provides a visually appealing alternative to your otherwise dreary company roster.
Shifts fall under different categories - 'weekend rotations,' for example - with each category represented by a unique icon of your choice. Once set up, the various shift-types can be chosen from an easy-access menu, after which their corresponding icon will appear on the app's main calendar.
The calendar itself, while easy enough to access, can also be viewed outside the application. This is facilitated by a neat feature that allows you to save it as an image, which can then be used as your desktop background screen.
In terms of sharing, Shift Worker allows you to send out scheduling information to third parties via email, Twitter, Facebook and MMS - all from inside the app.
Other features include a note function and a handy 'go-to' feature that allows you to pull up the details for specified dates on command.
