On the proposal to build a third runway at the airport:

Marcus H. Langston - I thought this was the point in the investment for the A380-capable airway bridges and infrastructure that's already been spent ... larger but fewer aircraft. Therefore, no need for a third runway, especially if China opens up its airspace.

Kelvin Ng - HK people must be given adequate time and info to consider this proposal carefully lest it become [an] ultra-expensive mammoth white elephant.

Kevin Yang - It makes sense to have a comprehensive review by [the] public prior to making key decisions especially for huge influential projects like this.

Philip Ho - Undoubtedly, it is a white elephant project. Whether or not we like it, it will get off the ground, irrespective of its high costs and the impact that ensues on our environment.

On the decision to revive the annual cross-harbour swim:

Koko Mueller - I have seen more positive than negative comments on Facebook about the event ... if you want to swim, swim ... if you don't, don't!

Sandy London - If people are happy to swim across Victoria Harbour, let them. Why be negative about it? It's all about fun. It's a risk whatever you do in your life. Why live with regrets? You can get sick just eating at your local restaurant. Have you thought about that before you eat out? If we thought about everything, we wouldn't do anything.

Joy Stillings Pineros - I love that harbour but it kind of gives me the creeps to think of swimming in it.

Terry Yau - Well, I guess the event will put the water quality to the test. Not just looking at it, but swim in it to find out for sure!

On a group of students going on hunger strike to commemorate the June 4 incident:

Rachel Pang Hoi-yan - Glad to see that the new generation cares about this.
