This week we test: summer scents

Jocelyn Wong

As the summer heats up, you'll find yourself reaching for lighter, fresher fragrances - sniff for citrus and floral notes in particular

Bobbi Brown Almost Bare (HK$500/45ml)

From the bottle to the fragrance itself, everything about this fresh perfume speaks of simplicity. Its delicate balance of bergamot and violet leaves soothes the senses. A little on the wrists will make you feel great all day.

A Scent by Issey Miyake (HK$550/100ml)

Delicate and floral, this scent is perfect for a romantic date or a breezy summer day. It can be a bit strong when first sprayed on, but the girly base notes unfold beautifully throughout the day

Blumarine Bellissima Acqua di Primavera (HK$688/100ml)

Very girly and elegant scent that can work both in the day time and at night. It lasts for at least four hours.

Guess Seductive Eau de Toilette (HK$496/75ml)

A classy scent - with almost an overpowering smell upon first application. But as the smell dissipates, the floral middle notes really pop.

Miss Dior Cherie Eau de Parfum (HK$500/30ml)

The cute bottle belies the powerful wood and caramel notes within. A lot of money for not a lot of perfume - but a single spray lasts all day.
