A clown must wear a brightly coloured wig, paint his face with big white eyes, oversized lips and heavy eyebrows, wear an outlandishly coloured costume, have a big red nose and wear enormous shoes. Clowns never speak. They fall over, squirt the audience with water, throw foam pies and push one another onto the floor.
