The Trade Development Council's Hong Kong Fashion Week for spring-summer 2012 will run from July 4 to 7 at the Convention and Exhibition Centre.

A catwalk show on July 4, 'Into the Light - Hong Kong New Design Force', will feature designs by finalists from the Hong Kong Young Fashion Designers' Contest from the past two years.

Incorporating lighting decorations by local design company KaCaMa, the show will focus on the designers' play of colour and light, from saturated and exuberant to soft and peaceful.

Some of the winning pieces will be at Joyce Boutique at Pacific Place and on sale from July 1. Among them are those of overall winner Eva Cheng, whose collection is named 'Fragments of the Sky', and category winners Angela Ng, Mag Choy and Zoe Li. Cheng will also have the chance to travel to Paris and intern at Rue du Mail.

'I hope these young designers can have their own labels and become independent local designers after a few years,' says Michael Mok, divisional merchandise manager of Joyce.
