A NEW Beatles album, featuring previously unreleased songs from more than 30 years ago, will be in British shops before Christmas, record company EMI said.

BBC producer Kevin Howlett discovered the old Beatles recordings in an archive when he was researching a documentary programme.

'It was like finding Tutankhamen's tomb,' said Howlett, of the BBC One music station.
