Model back on the radar as watchmaker switches opening celebrations

It was a rough start for Tissot's store opening yesterday in Percival Street, Causeway Bay. Firstly, the Swiss watch brand was supposed to be opening its store in Nathan Road this week, but staff opted to open the new Hong Kong Island shop first because of construction work near the Tsim Sha Tsui space. Then, when the VIPs, press and the stars present were set for the opening ceremony, drizzling rain became a downpour. The ceremony went ahead, complete with champagne toasts, while camera crews and reporters were left out on the footpath because of limited space inside.

Maybe that's why the models, including Lynn Xiong Dailin, put on bigger smiles than usual to promote the watches. Xiong had been off the radar for a while, filming a television show in Taiwan.

'I've learned a lot from the experience. I think it was a good challenge for me,' she said.

Maybe Tissot's staff can learn a thing or two from her new-found wisdom.
