Class Five battler Seize The Day doesn't get many plaudits, but he won the courage award after fighting back to win the Fortune Room Handicap (1,400m) after looking to have been clearly headed at the 200m. Stepping up from his more familiar place in 1,000m events, Seize The Day (Alvin Ng Ka-chun) led keenly and most thought he was going to be swamped when Ambitious Owner claimed him, but the five-year-old kicked back to land the photo. 'In his last 1,000m run at Happy Valley you could see they were just too fast for him and got a long way back and finished off well,' said Me Tsui Yu-sak. 'I have tried him before at 1,400m and he wasn't beaten too far so I thought he looked ready to try it again.'
