Designer aims for double happiness with fashionable and practical sportswear

If you are looking for one more incentive to hit the gym, Charo Perez Giusti has a solution.

The Venezuela-born designer of G-Pow Athletics hosted a preview of her latest gymwear collection on Friday at IFC Mall's Pure gym. Her sports tanks and tight pants featured neon-coloured patterns and fishnet details.

The designer, a big fan of kick-boxing and pole dancing, said she started the line because it helped boost her workout results.

'When I work out, I want to look good. I mean, who doesn't want that? It really motivates me [to work harder],' she said. 'Every time I wear something I like and when I look into the mirror, I'll be like, yeah, that's the spirit.'

Plenty of high-fashion houses have tackled the territory of stylish sportswear but Giusti believes her designs are different.

'Some brands are very fashionable but they are not so practical for exercise. This is sportswear with a fashionable twist and an edgy addition to it.'

Well, because the girls indulged in free-flows of champagne and canapes at the cocktail, it might be time to book themselves another fat-burning gym session to keep their bikini-bods, following the proper dress code of course.
