A gentle pace and the keen judgment of regular jockey Weichong Marwing paved the way to Nice Folks landing his second success when stepped up in distance yesterday. As in his other win over 1,600m earlier in the term, Nice Folks was able to sprint quickly off a slow tempo and overhauled Amityship and Healthy Blueberry in an all long-priced finish. 'Weichong rode him in the 1,600m last start and when he came back he said the horse just couldn't keep up early,' said trainer Michael Chang Chun-wai. 'He was confident that the horse was ready for a longer distance now. This horse has got a nice pick-up so he enjoys this kind of tempo.'
