They lay on it, they played on it and Serbian Novak Djokovic even ate it - the hallowed grass at Wimbledon. Djokovic could not resist the urge to eat the grass after snatching victory from Rafael Nadal. In the 125th year that the All England club has hosted the championships, familiar faces battled it out with newcomers. Fans rested their weary bodies on the lawns, officials followed their routine to the letter and players got down to business. Associated Press, Agence France-Presse and EPA photographers caught every moment on and off the courts.
