Who started it? Bangkok-based designer Milin Yuvacharuskul started her namesake label in 2008, having returned home to Thailand with a resume that included a stint at Jill Stuart and degrees from Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in London and the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York. Three years on, the boutique brand has stockists in Australia and Hong Kong while more territories are jockeying to sell its wares after the company's recent success at Singapore Fashion Week. Despite the positive reviews, this indie darling prefers to downplay her label's mass appeal, and instead concentrates on personal touches. The label is helmed by Yuvacharuskul and fellow designers Puchong Nilratana and Guarboon Chuanboon, whose proclivity for patterns have become representative of the brand's identity.

Why we love it: Bangkok's unorthodox street style has long had a dedicated following. Combine this with Milin's quiet sartorial sophistication and you get a label that has style seekers falling over themselves for a taste of it. The label's spring-summer collection borrows imagery from shutter-speed photography techniques - the result is a romantic riff of sunsets and clouds amid soft fabric twists and pleats.
