After days of fierce competition, the 11th All China Secondary Schools Students' Games drew to a colourful end on the grasslands of Inner Mongolia.

The closing ceremony, which took place at the Saihantala Ecological Grassland, featured cultural performances and a music show which included a traditional Mongolian horse-head violin. A massive, centre-stage campfire leant a vibrant atmosphere to the proceedings.

The Hong Kong team scored a historical best in Baotou, bringing home nine medals in total - one gold, four silver and four bronze. These medals were all won by the swimming team, while the volleyball team had a close call, finishing fourth after losing the bronze medal match.

As host of the next Secondary Schools Students' Games, Shanghai received the flag from the local organising committee. Also, in 2014, the second Youth Olympic Games will be held in nearby Nanjing .

With formalities out of the way, students took the chance to celebrate, and danced around the traditional campfire.
