On officials being fired over the fatal high-speed train collision near Wenzhou:
Kelvin Ng - An immediate & comprehensive review of all safety measures surrounding the high-speed railway is in order.
Mike Pang - Are people really drawing comfort when those officials were elbowed out of their positions? Surely, to some extent, it assuages the public anger and soothes some of the grieving families in this tragedy. But, where do we go in the future?
Some future teachers think the government's proposal of national education as a compulsory school subject will involve 'brainwashing':
Kanyu Chan - 'Brainwashing' is the aim of this national education, isn't it? Such a needless proposal. I can't believe anyone in Hong Kong will be in favour of it.
Letitia Wong - We already have liberal studies. Regrettably, it is not as liberal as the name suggested. I don't see the necessity in implementing national education. Some of the contents of both subjects overlap. Besides, did anyone take heed of what Chip Tsao said earlier? 'National education' itself is a politically incorrect term. No mature & developed cities will provide such a politically incorrect curriculum.
