A procession of lawyers, bankers and other professionals from the finance industry trekked up to Wo On Lane to celebrate the opening of the latest addition to the city's nightlife, Casa Lounge.

White and purple balloons were hung around the venue on Wednesday to complement the plush purple interior. The DJ set the mood for the party, spinning hip-hop beats while guests chatted and downed cocktails. Guests also penned their best wishes to Casa on a wall dotted with the lounge's logo.

John Rana, the managing director of Casa, said the clientele were 'more mature, professional and sophisticated people' who were mostly his friends.

Asked how Casa was different from other clubs, he said: 'There is nothing different from others. Everyone is doing well and we are also doing well. We just try to create a great and cosy ambience with good people ... and we are right in [the middle of] Hong Kong's nightlife industry in Lan Kwai Fong.'

Also, Casa was the first club in Central to have a karaoke system in its VIP room, Rana said.
