There's no time like summertime as Tissot dives right in at the opening of its flagship city store

Swiss watchmaker Tissot opened its flagship store in Mong Kok with a summer-appropriate nautical theme - at the same time launching its new Seastar 1000 product line.

Models in grey bathing suits strutted down a makeshift runway at Tuesday's event, with goggles, inflatable rings and other swimming gear in hand, and the sailing and diving watches on their wrists.

Actor Huang Xiaoming and model Cica Zhou Weitong flew in from Beijing to officiate at the opening ceremony. Huang, a Tissot global ambassador, said he owned a dozen of the brand's timepieces. Wrapped in a mauve evening gown, Zhou said the sea-blue watch on her wrist made her want to go diving.

Saying he was a fan of kung fu movies, Huang has been practising martial arts lately to prepare for the role of Yue Fei in the television series of the same name.

Since Yue, a military general from the Song dynasty, was adept with both the pen and the sword, the star said it was also important for him to practise calligraphy, which he said could improve temperament. 'The historical figure was both filial and loyal. I like the role,' Huang said.

Huang will reveal his sexy back onscreen when Yue Fei's mother, played by Zheng Peipei, tattoos on him four characters meaning 'repay the country with supreme loyalty', a scene his fans will no doubt be thrilled to watch.
