I would like to respond in general on behalf of the Retail Management Association and its members.
The contents of the letter appear not to recognise any of the positive actions that have been taken in the past year and dismisses contemptuously our target of a 10 per cent reduction.
The Use Less Plastic Bags Campaign Committee are of the opinion that a great deal of constructive action has been taken over the past year.
While there is still a lot more to be achieved, the support of the press and the 'green groups' would help to encourage consumer participation which is essential for ongoing success.
