Claim: a highly pigmented eye colour that is creamy but gives an intense vibrant finish on drying. It is long-wearing, colourfast and creates seamless coverage without weight or caking. Blends smoothly over the eyelids. Cream-based, it can be mixed with powder shadows and liners.
Guerlain Ombre Fusion (HK$250)
Claim: an intense metallic effect which dries to give a powdery feel. Long-lasting, budge-proof eyeshadow with an applicator designed to deliver extremely precise application on the eyelids. Soft, for an ultra-fresh effect on application.
Verdict: M.A.C. Paint Pot is creamy and can be spread across the eyelids with a finger, but becomes a little sticky after drying. It stays on when splashed with water, and is easily removed with cleansing milk. The Guerlain eyeshadow comes with a sponge applicator and glides easily over the skin. It gives a powdery feel on drying, but tends to drip or smudge a little when wet. The Becca eye tint is liquid based and can be easily applied with the tube. It smoothes the creases on the eyelids and stays on even after contact with water, taking some effort to remove later.
