What you'll need

Plain glass jar, cup or plate

Contact paper

Craft punch

Disposable gloves

Etching cream

Paintbrush

Sponge

1 Wash and dry your glass jars.

2 Using craft punches, punch your design onto a piece of contact paper. Anything not covered by the contact paper will be etched onto the glass, which will end up cloudy.

3 Peel the backing off the contact paper and tape it onto the glass.

4 Smooth out any air bubbles with your fingers.

5 Put on disposable gloves.

6 Brush a thick coat of etching cream onto the exposed surface.

7 Set aside for 15 minutes.

8 Using a sponge, carefully wipe off the cream under running water.

9 Repeat steps 6 to 8 until you get a perfectly etched pattern.

10 Peel off the contact paper and let dry.

Tips:

Etched glass should be only hand-washed.
