Ex-wife held for throwing acid on man in court
A 56-year-old woman was arrested for throwing corrosive fluid on her 62-year-old former husband, in the process splashing a female employee of a law firm, after a maintenance hearing in the Family Court in Harbour Road, Wan Chai, yesterday. The man was in stable condition in Eastern Hospital last night with injuries to his face and chest. The employee was treated for minor injuries and sent home.
Police investigate death of expat found in harbour
The body of an expatriate man thought to be aged between 40 and 50 was found floating off the Tsim Sha Tsui promenade at about 9.15am. Police said they were investigating whether the death of the man, who had an injury to his head, involved foul play. No identifying documents were found on the body.
101 new cases of HIV found in second quarter
There were 101 new diagnoses of HIV infection in the second quarter of the year - 78 men and 23 women - and the main transmission route was unprotected sex, the Centre for Health Protection said.
