From plastic practise grounds in Sham Shui Po to a professional pitch shadowed by the Eiffel Tower in Paris, the Hong Kong team at the Homeless World Cup has experienced a city worlds apart from its hometown.

The team arrived in the French capital last week to compete in the annual tournament, which brings homeless people together to play football and share life stories.

'They've been enjoying the whole organisation of the event,' team manager Ho Wai-chi said.

'Unfortunately, because we've lost so many games, they feel depressed. But thanks to the professional trainers, they are OK.

'It's a tough experience, but they are enjoying it.'

The team has won two out of nine games, with victories over Sweden and Canada.

For Davy 'Small B' Wong, 23, the highlight of the trip was easy to choose.
