Volunteers to hand out 'blessing bags' to the elderly during Mid-Autumn Festival
The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) Alumni group is joining the HK Movie Star Sports Association Charities in its annual Mid-Autumn Festival event. This year, volunteers delivering 'Blessing Bags' will visit the homes of over 3,700 elderly living in the Shek Kip Mei and Pak Tin Estate area . Each bag will contain mooncakes (below left) and other donated foods, including staples such as rice and oil. More than 350 people have signed up - in addition to some 100 volunteers from HKUST Alumni - to spend time with the elderly during the festival. September 4, 10.30am-4.00pm. The Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU) Alumni is inviting graduates to spend their HK$6,000 windfall from the government to support the 'HKBU Mainland Experience Scheme for Students'.
