Whyte can overcome wide draw on Size's speedy Delish

Lightly raced Delish can give punters a solid standout in the middle leg of the season-opening Triple Trio at Sha Tin on Sunday with a healthy HK$20 million on the line.

The John Size-trained five-year-old has scope to improve off his mark of 60, starting with the Harcourt Handicap (1,200m).

Delish won over 1,400m in Class Four in late June, before a competitive third over the same trip on the last day of the 2010-11 season, so he will have residual fitness.

The son of Thorn Park has shown good speed in three starts, so dropping back to 1,200m should not prove a problem and Douglas Whyte is the right man to find a position, despite barrier 14.

Tony Cruz's yard looks pumped up to run well early and All Victory (Matthew Chadwick) showed ability last season, winning off a 52 rating in January, though he was lame after his last run in February.

Trial watchers will be keen on Shibala (Olivier Doleuze), who went well behind King Mossman on August 30. He has had problems but produces his best when fresh. Lightly weighted Big Winner Again (Keith Yeung Ming-lun) ended the season on a good note in Class Five and should be running on, while Fortune Together (Jeff Lloyd), Star Legend (Howard Cheng Yue-tin) and Ekraar Emperor (Tim Clark) are down in the handicaps and likely to get their act together quickly.

In the final leg, the Caspar Fownes-trained Longwah Kid (Vincent Ho Chak-yiu) looks weighted to make a banker.

With Ho's five-pound claim, Longwah Kid comes in with 118 pounds from a good draw. At his only run for Fownes, he was second in a similar race in June, and looked to trial nicely last Saturday without being asked for a lot.

Tony Millard's Lucky Nistelrooy (Jeff Lloyd) has won two of his last four and is an honest, on-pace runner who looks suited in a race devoid of much speed.

Master Key (Alvin Ng Ka-chun) drops back to Class Four and gets the apprentice claim, while Mochi (Zac Purton) was green but showed promise last season and might be all the better for the summer break since a smart win in June.

Players will want to include Life Of Beauty, Rock'N Typhoon and Happy Score, while new Australian jockey Clark has a place chance on Successful Era.

A tough opening leg without any standout is the biggest hurdle, but a lack of pace in the 1,600m Class Four lends assistance to the likes of the Size-trained Prosperity (Whyte) and the lightly weighted, Me Tsui Yu-sak-trained Ferrabosco.

Ferrabosco (Alex Lai Hoi-wing) won a Class Five on the final day in July with 131 pounds, but drops to 115 pounds as the likely leader and can be tough to get past.

The five-year-old Prosperity hasn't set the world on fire, despite starting in the betting at most of his seven starts but hasn't done a lot wrong either and his only win was at 1,600m. Like Ferrabosco, a soft tempo would be in his favour.

The Cruz-trained Let's Goal (Chadwick) pulled up lame after failing as favourite in July but was consistent prior, while honest Sure Forward, Watch First and Kingston Spartacus all have some claims.

Down in the weights, Treasure Glitter raced fairly in this grade after a Class Five win and might press forward with only 106 pounds in the saddle.
