Hong Kong Disneyland will open Asia's first Toy Story Land in mid-November.

The expansion project will also include two other themed zones - Grizzly Gulch and Mystic Point - which are expected to be ready within two years.

'In addition to increasing our physical footprint by 23 per cent, the new projects will increase overall park attractions, entertainment facilities and shows to more than 100,' said Andrew Kam Min-ho, the park's managing director.

With the new attraction, the number of daily visitors is expected to rise from 38,000 to 40,000.

The new Toy Story-themed area will feature giant versions of such characters as Slinky Dog and Sheriff Woody from the blockbuster movie.

A new attraction will include RC Racer, a 27-metre-high, U-shaped coaster where visitors can race along in Andy's speedy toy car. Toy Soldier Parachute Drop will simulate a 25m high-flying adventure. Slinky Dog Spin will in turn send visitors chasing their own tail in a slinky.

The theme park will invite annual pass holders and officials for a trial. It has no plans to raise the current admission fee of HK$399.
