Less than two weeks after resuming riding in Western Australia, former Hong Kong jockey Marco Chui Kwan-lai broke through for his first winner at the Belmont racetrack in Perth. Chui had two positive drug tests in the space of a year to ketamine and was then refused a licence earlier this year when he attempted to return from a year's ban. However, he has found acceptance in Perth after undergoing a course of rehabilitation. After he was granted a licence earlier this month by the West Australian Turf Club, and finished second at his first ride back, Chui has received modest support, riding mostly long-priced runners and his Belmont winner, Rocking The Blues (30-1), was no exception.
