The newly opened sky100 observation deck on the 100th floor of the International Commerce Centre in Tsim Sha Tsui opened its doors for a VIP gala dinner last Friday to celebrate Japanese beauty brand Cle de Peau Beaute's 10th anniversary in Hong Kong.

The crowd wasn't the venue's usual touristy pack but rather well-heeled tai-tais and society people like Christina Lee, Pansy Ho Chiu-king, Catherine Kwai and Olivia Lee-Davies. Newly-wed model Amanda Strang, just back from Italy, also showed up rocking an open-back Prada number.

The brand's first Asian ambassador, mainland actress Zhou Xun, was flown in to make a personal appearance at the event.

The petite beauty was all sweet talk about the brand at a ceremony before the gala dinner and received a bouquet showing a dozen of the brand's signature face creams.

Zhou spent more time doing press interviews than mingling with guests - but many of them were far too busy catching up with old friends to be star-struck by the mainland actress.

A three-course dinner catered by the Mandarin Oriental finished up with a surprise dessert specially made for the event - a logo-emblazoned chocolate dome with silver glaze.

The crowd thinned out around 11pm with some of the guests leaving to catch other happenings on the Island side.
