New information pack on NSS

Joyee Chan

The Education Bureau has published an information pack on the New Senior Secondary curriculum.

The seven-part book includes information on local and foreign universities and career-mapping.

The book will reach Secondary Six students this week. Secondary Four and Five students will have to wait for it until late November.

Senior education officer Miranda Liu Chan Miu-ha says the handbook will help students plan ahead and decide on which education or career path to take.

The new further education guide features details and entry requirements for higher diploma and bachelor programmes offered by local tertiary institutions and the Vocational Training Council.

The booklet also explains how the new diploma results can be translated to grades compatible with internationally recognised exams. In addition, it offers useful tips on how to write a personal statement - one of the requirements in the Secondary Student Learning Profile.

The Education Bureau will hold talks for parents on October 7, 11, 18 and 24. Human resources agencies will be also invited to give advice on job interviews.

The information pack is available online at 334.edb.hkedcity.net/EN/nasfolder.php.
