Merle Hinrichs, executive chairman, Global Sources

Hinrichs co-founded Global Sources in 1970. In his new position as executive chairman of the board, he oversees mergers and acquisitions, as well as investor relations functions. Hinrichs graduated from the University of Nebraska and received a master's degree in international trade from the Thunderbird School of Global Management. In 2010, the school conferred upon him the honorary degree of doctor of international law.

Spenser Au, chief executive officer, Global Sources

Au has been with the Global Sources team for 33 year and has an extensive knowledge of Greater China and other markets in which the company operates. He will lead Global Sources to continue the company's mission, connecting suppliers in Asia with buyers worldwide, and to maximise growth, profitability and shareholder value. Au holds a diploma in business management from the Hong Kong Baptist University.

Natalie Kjellstrom, director of sales - worldwide, Maybourne Hotel Group

Kjellstrom is in charge of overseeing global sales and further solidifying the positions of Claridge's, The Connaught and The Berkeley. She has diverse global experience with hotels and resorts in the United States, Europe, Asia and the Middle East. She is a graduate of Northeastern University in Boston, where she earned a bachelor's of science in communications.

Bhupinder Singh, country manager - Hong Kong, Cable & Wireless Worldwide

Singh will take up this new post in addition to his current role as vice-president of delivery, Asia-Pacific He has over 16 years of experience in delivering strategic programmes across private and public industry sectors, including telecommunications, banking, utilities, manufacturing and oil and gas. Singh holds a degree in computer sciences and an MBA from the Anderson School of Management.

Martin Westacott, regional director - energy, Aon Risk Solutions Asia

Westacott will lead strategic account management initiatives. He brings 25 years of experience in the upstream and downstream energy and chemical sectors, principally from his work with ExxonMobil's corporate insurance department. Westacott holds a banking, insurance and finance degree from the University College of North Wales.

Yasuyuki Katagi, president and CEO - Japan, McCann Worldgroup

Katagi joins McCann Worldgroup from Ogilvy & Mather where he was executive director for Japan. Prior to that, Katagi held various leadership positions with Ogilvy & Mather over the past 10 years in Tokyo, Shanghai and Hong Kong. He spent the first 15 years of his career with McCann Erickson in Japan and Germany, leading major accounts including Nestle, General Motors, and Microsoft. As CEO of McCann Worldgroup Japan, Katagi will work with Michael McLaren, chairman of McCann Worldgroup Japan, to drive market momentum in the country and to leverage new ideas from around the world.
