Trainer Paul O'Sullivan's suspicion that New Vision is a 1,400m horse was confirmed when he scored over that trip in a Class Three handicap. New Vision endured a frustrating run of seconds at a mile last season - beaten a neck, a nose and a head in consecutive outings before a season ending fourth, again over the mile. 'I looked at all his races last year carefully and all of those times over the mile he was just getting beaten and didn't think he was getting the trip,' O'Sullivan said. '[Winning jockey] Douglas [Whyte] still thinks after a couple more runs and he'll need a mile. It was a good performance because he was entitled to get beat after being held up.' O'Sullivan also added the gelding had benefitted from putting on 40 pounds.
