The Domino Project (e-book)
Perhaps one of the authors who contributed to End Malaria should have insisted the cover state that readers should not expect much content about the mosquito-borne disease, apart from facts such as that the disease kills more than 75,000 people a year. The book comprises 'essays' by 62 business thinkers, many just a few hundred words long, that encourage innovative ways of working. For every volume sold, two mosquito nets are sent to Africa to help Malaria No More end related deaths in the continent by 2015. Among the should-reads are works by Seth Godin, author of Permission Marketing; Premal Shah, president of Kiva.org, which links people through lending to alleviate poverty; and Wired magazine founder Kevin Kelly, who says that if people are stealing your ideas, and they're doing it well ... thank them. The book's driving force, Michael Bungay Stanier, who was born with a cleft lip and palate, explains how scars can limit your potential or let you stand out from the crowd. The book tells of interesting people and helpfully includes most of the contributors' Twitter addresses.
