Yip Oi-wun

Yip Oi-wun has a sweet tooth. Her favourite food discoveries are always dessert related. She says although the fireworks display added colour to her recent meal at Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. at The Peak on National Day, it was the chocolate chip cookie sundae drizzled with chocolate and caramel sauce that made the meal.

'A giant cookie is topped with large scoops of ice cream, whipped cream and chopped nuts. The cookie is harder yet chewier than a brownie. It's sweet and a bit warm, which makes a perfect match with the cool vanilla ice cream,' Yip says.

She always on the lookout for new dessert places to try out and Vero Chocolates in Wan Chai and Mrs Chung Sweetmeats selling fusion desserts in Tseung Kwan O are two of her favourites.

She goes for sweet treats such as chocolate mousse cake and cheese cake for afternoon tea, and when she cooks, not surprisingly, it's mainly dessert. 'I love making tiramisu, it's tasty and easy to do. I love the aromatic combination of coffee and wine. I also like the milky flavour and the mousse-like texture,' she says.
