Sensitive skin cleansers
REN Hydra-Calm Cleansing Gel (HK$330/150ml)
Claim: leaves sensitive skin thoroughly cleansed, refreshed and soothed, without irritation, tightness or discomfort. Gently removes dirt and pollution without harshness.
Aveda All-Sensitive Cleanser (HK$290/150ml)
Claim: cleanses and conditions skin to remove make-up and impurities; paraben-free, it includes soothing anti-irritants chamomile, witch hazel and soapwort extracts.
Perricone MD Hypoallergenic Gentle Cleanser (HK$340/237ml)
Claim: from dermatologist Dr Nicholas Perricone's new collection, this cleanser uses olive polyphenols, found in the olive and olive leaf, to deliver anti-ageing solutions for sensitive skin. It's gentle and paraben-free.
Verdict: REN's gel is light but has a refreshing zing for a satisfying (and clean) sensation. Aveda's All-Sensitive product is soothingly scent-free, but its milky texture doesn't leave the skin feeling as throughly cleansed. Perricone's cleanser is the star attraction - its slightly olive-scented gel combines with water to create mild suds that gently wash away dirt while leaving the skin soft and supple.
