Take a walk on the wild side as animal prints, a perennial autumn favourite, reappear this season. Some designers are experimenting with animal motifs, such as panther (at Givenchy) and snakeskin prints (at Chloe). The tried-and-tested favourite, however, remains the leopard print, as spotted on the runway of Dolce & Gabbana. A word of caution - not everyone can pull off a head-to-toe look, so experiment with one accessory first, be it a pair of shoes or a handbag. Choose styles made from textured fabrics, such as pony or calf hair, to give the print more depth and add a wintry feel.

A pair of leopard-print pumps or short boots will complete your outfit. The slouchy Enfield boots (HK$13,200) from Jimmy Choo come with stiletto heels for a more feminine look.

Cuffs are a big trend this season. Buy a pair of leopard-print bracelets (HK$5,400 each) from Celine and wear one on each wrist with an all-black outfit.

Accessorise your winter coat with a soft pair of leopard-print pony hair and leather gloves (HK$3,900) from Giorgio Armani. It features a rib-knit trim.

Leopard print runs the risk of looking too busy at times, so choose a simple clean shape such as the Y clutch (HK$9,950) from Yves Saint Laurent.
