Hong Kong Sapling scored their first goal in the top flight, but still fell to their fourth consecutive defeat in their debut season. The team, which comprises mainly Hong Kong under-21 members and a few expatriates, lost 3-1 to Citizen at Kowloon Bay Park last night. Isus Ramos put the new team ahead in the first half through a penalty kick before Citizen, now on top of the table with 10 points after the victory, replied with three in the second period through Tam Lok-hin (52), Paulinho (59) and captain Festus Baise (63 pen). Citizen coach Pui Ho-wang said his charges lost focus a bit in the first 45 minutes but were quick to make amends after the break, especially with the arrival of towering striker Detinho, whose aerial prowess made long balls a valuable tactic.
