David Hall's jump and run start to the new season continued apace, with a double for the yard and a return to the winner's circle for Wasabisabi after a two year wait. Owned by the wife of former chief secretary Henry Tang Ying-yen, Wasabisabi was given a perfect ride by Derek Leung Ka-chun to scrape home for just the second time in 27 starts. 'I'm pleased that he has won because Mrs Tang wasn't here the first time but at least now she has a winning photo,' said Hall, who had also scored with debutant Country Charm. Hall has come out steaming, with seven winners in the opening 11 meetings including some nice newer prospects from among his unraced brigade.
