Totton grabs qualifying spot to join HK Open field

Ron Totton became the third amateur to make it into the field at December's UBS Hong Kong golf Open thanks to a steady final round at the qualifying tournament at the Jockey Club Kau Sai Chau Public Golf Course yesterday. Canadian-born Totton, 40, finished with a two-day total of 148 (four over par) at the Gary Player-designed North Course to grab the third and final qualifying spot available. Totton, a one-handicapper, will join fellow amateurs Shinichi Mizuno (Hong Kong Amateur Close champion) and Huang Yongle (Hong Kong Open amateur champion) in the field at the Hong Kong Golf Club in six weeks. Hong Kong cyclist strikes gold at Inter-City Games

Hong Kong's Leung Chun-wing won the gold medal in the men's cycling individual road race at the National Inter-City Games in Suzhou, China yesterday. Another Hong Kong rider Ho Pak-yi took bronze. The Games are for athletes under the age of 19. Chan Kin-wa
