High-riding Mosse can take centre stage at Valley

Still riding high from victory Down Under yesterday, Gerald Mosse can turn a solid book of rides into Jockey Challenge success at Happy Valley today.

Mosse reunited with 2010 Melbourne Cup winner Americain at Moonee Valley and confirmed the flashy stayer's favouritism for next week's cup with a dominant win in the Group Two International Cup. He heads back to Flemington next Tuesday to defend his crown.

But he is sure to bring his A game back to Hong Kong 24 hours later, where eight rides await including the likely favourites in the two Cup races - consistent Happy Yeah Yeah, who has drawn one in the Po Leung Kuk Centenary Cup (1,200m), and Space Race in the Hong Kong Squash 50th Anniversary Cup.

He also has claims in the opening event on Potential, followed by rides aboard Fairy Boy (race two), Beautiful Scenery (race four), Goldmen Y Y (race five) and last-start winner Turf Express in the last.

Mosse was a $4.75 second favourite behind the only jockey with a full programme of 10 rides, Alex Lai Hoi-wing ($4).

Darren Beadman is a $13 chance with five rides, but has a great chance courtesy of his deadly combination with Danny Shum Chap-shing. The Australian rides Iron Hawk (race four) and Healthy Manner (race five) for Shum.
