Wan Chai's Star St burning brightly

Italian fashion brand Rosamosario opened its first Asia shop last week on Star Street in Wan Chai. And the location was handpicked by the brand's founder and chief designer, Carlotta Danti.

'Star Street is in the heart of the city yet it is so quiet, enigmatic and adventurous,' said Danti, who was in town for the opening ceremony. 'It's an experience I hope to create for our customers.'

TVB actress Aimee Chan Yan-mei was selected as the first couture client, receiving a tailor-made dress by Danti.

'To have [Carlotta], who's designed these dresses for icons such as Monica Bellucci, to design a dress especially for me is the biggest honour,' Chan said. 'I've always been a fan of Rosamosario for their casual, yet classic, Italian designs.'

The quaint shop, with a bright, golden decor, currently carries the brand's first ready-to-wear collection in Asia.

Chan's been in the news lately for her high-profile relationship with fellow TVB colleague Moses Chan. But the 30-year-old former Miss Hong Kong is keeping busy - aside from Rosamosario, she recently served as the spokeswoman for Clinique as well.

'Getting a lot of work is a happy thing, I'm trying to save up enough money to buy a flat for my parents.'
