Dragon watches

Ulysse Nardin Classico Dragon

A variety of colour created from different metallic oxides is used to bring life to the dragon flying against the blue dial. The dragon's body roams the 40mm case as a blazing fire ball escapes its mouth. It has a power reserve of 42 hours and an open case back which provides a view of the self-winding movement. It comes in a choice of white gold (HK$410,000) and rose gold (HK$379,100). Only 30 pieces were produced.

Piaget Emperador XL

The hand-engraved dragon on this timepiece (HK$1.76 million) looks fierce with its red eyes and open mouth. It has glittering scales - thanks to 257 brilliant-cut diamonds of about 0.3 carat. The circle at 12 o'clock reveals the company-made manual-winding tourbillion which rotates every minute, while the circle below indicates its 40-hour power reserve. The case back has a gilded applied 'lung' (Chinese character for dragon).

Arnold & Son HMS1 Dragon

This special edition timepiece (HK$199,300) has a 40mm rose gold case and a hand-engraved gold dragon applique on a black lacquered dial. The watch is water resistant to 30 metres, has 80 hours of reserve power and the hand-wound movement is 2.7mm thick. The gold poudre indications for the hours and minutes adorn the dial, and a hand-stitched alligator strap completes the design.
