Cathy Chui's svelte appearance dispels post-pregnancy weight rumours
Even though the centre attraction should have been Korean skincare brand Sulwhasoo's 'Hundreds of Families Quilt' charity event at Harbour City, all eyes were on former model Cathy Chui Chi-kei.
In her first public appearance since the birth of her third child in June, she quickly dispelled rumours of substantial post-pregnancy weight gain, looking svelte and happy in a structured lilac cocktail dress.
The wife of billionaire Martin Lee Ka-shing, son of tycoon Lee Shau-kee, presented a black-and-white photo of her and her son, which was her contribution to help raise funds for families with HIV/Aids.
'We shot the photograph on the beach. As you can see, both my son, who was about a month old at the time, and I are wearing simple, neutral-coloured clothing as a way to blend with the surroundings,' Chui said. 'My idea was to reflect the miracle of mother's love in its purest, simplest form. From the first time a mother looks at her newborn, there is an incredibly powerful bond that makes her want to give him or her the best in life, to protect him or her unconditionally.'
Chui, who is enjoying a hands-on role raising her two daughters and son, is planning a big circus-themed party for th children. 'When I was little, I had fantasies about becoming a circus acrobat. I guess you could see I'm living that out with this party for my kids.'
Chui went on to describe the unique kind of love she has for her son Triston Lee, one that she says has even made her husband a little jealous. 'I didn't think it would be so different with Triston. I have the strongest bonds with my girls - they are kindred spirits; but with my son, it's like falling in love for the first time, again.'
