Chance to test drive an electric car

Electric vehicles will be one of the highlights of InnoCarnival 2011.

Visitors will find out about the latest green car technology, and those with a valid driving licence can test drive the most up-to-date electric cars at the event.

About 50 organisations will showcase their new technology at the carnival at Hong Kong Science Park this weekend.

InnoCarnival is part of InnoTech Month, which ends on December 3. The event brings technology to the general public in a fun and accessible way.

Those taking part include local universities, youth organisations, government departments and professional bodies.

Their inventions fall under this year's three main themes: Health Science, Green and Quality Living, and Information and Communication Technology.

Of particular interest will be many booths and workshops that will demonstrate the latest robotic technology. Visitors to one of the exhibits will get a chance to create their own robots that can row a boat in a river.

InnoCarnival 2011 will take place at the Science Park on November 5 and 6, and 12 and 13. It is open from 10am to 7pm. Entry is free.
