HONG Kong's Australian Rules side maintained their unbeaten record in the territory with a 12-goal demolition of the visiting Singapore Wombats at So Kon Po yesterday.

Inspired efforts in the second and third quarters when they kicked 11 goals without reply proved decisive for the home team who ran out easy 16-12 (108) to 5-6 (36) winners.

It was just the confidence booster the home team needed ahead of next May's Arafura Games in Darwin where they will represent Hong Kong for the first time in an organised multi-sport competition.

'We certainly didn't expect to win so easily,' said injured full forward and coach for the day, Bruce Brown.

Brown had an able replacement up front in Will Hamilton who booted four majors. Ruck rover Paul McKay was also on target with five goals.

Hong Kong will face teams from Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, Nehru, Canada and Denmark in the Aussie Rules section of the Arafura Games.
