Shanghai confident ahead of cup clash with Wofoo Tai Po
Shanghai East Asia arrived in Hong Kong yesterday with the target of retaining the annual interport cup. 'I think the standard of Shanghai soccer is a bit higher than Hong Kong,' said club chairman Xu Genbao, a former China international. 'We just finished our season and the players are still in pretty good form, although we haven't trained too much because of the adverse weather in Shanghai.' East Asia came ninth in the First Division this season with Wu Lei third in the scoring table with 13 goals. They will play against Wofoo Tai Po, who represent Hong Kong in the annual tournament. The first leg is at Mong Kok Stadium tomorrow before Tai Po travel for the return leg on November 12. East Asia beat Citizen 5-3 on aggregate last season to take the title.
