Nobel laureate shares 'beautiful mind' with pupils ...

One of 1994's three Nobel laureates in economics, John Nash, the man who inspired the Hollywood movie A Beautiful Mind, starring Russell Crowe, holds an open dialogue with pupils from Diocesan Girls' School. The dialogue, hosted by Hong Kong Polytechnic University, will be the first time the celebrated academic has shared his wealth of knowledge with the city's high school pupils.

Nobel economics laureates Edmund Phelps (2006) and Finn Kydland (2004) speak at Shenzhen's Conference on International Exchange of Professionals on developing international expertise. China's more prosperous provinces and municipalities have been keen to tap more international talent. Shanghai, for example, plans to attract 90,000 financial professionals to work in the city by 2015 - a 40 per cent increase. However, some expatriates say the personal income tax rate, which can be as high as 45 per cent, is a deterrent to working on the mainland.
