Man charged with molesting boy in toilet
A 31-year-old man was yesterday charged with molesting a 10-year-old boy inside a public toilet on the On Ting Estate in Tuen Mun on Monday. He was arrested on Friday and will appear in Tuen Mun court tomorrow. Police have stepped up patrols in the district following the alleged incident. Separately, police arrested a 58-year-old man on Friday for molesting a seven-year-old girl in Sau Mau Ping. He was released on police bail.
Man's superbug infection under investigation
An investigation is under way into an imported case of the superbug known as NDM-1 producing Enterobacteriaceae. A 74-year-old man living in Fujian was admitted to a mainland hospital late last month. He returned to Hong Kong on October 30 for medical consultation and was admitted to Princess Margaret Hospital, where he is in stable condition.
Police seek help finding mother missing for days
Police appealed for help finding Lam Yuk-ching, 58, a mother not seen since she left home on Thursday. Lam, who is 1.56 metres tall and weighs 59 kilos, was wearing a brown flower-patterned shirt, black trousers, brown plastic shoes and a brown shoulder bag. Anyone with information should call 9020 6542.
Search fails to find hiker lost in Sai Kung
A land and air search has failed to find a hiker missing since Friday in Sai Kung. The man had called police to say he had lost his way in Pak Tam Chung, but police later lost contact with him. Police said anyone with information should call 2792 8600.
Water cost up but tariff not rising, official says
The government was set to seal a deal with Guangdong for the purchase of Dongjiang water for the next three years at a cost of more than HK$11 billion, a 5.8 per cent increase on the previous deal, principal assistant secretary for development Jimmy Chan Pai-ming told RTHK. There were no plans to adjust the city's water tariff, he said.
URA refers 25 bid-rigging cases to graft-busters
The Urban Renewal Authority had found 25 cases of bid-rigging in Operation Building Bright, a subsidy scheme for repairs on old buildings, chairman Barry Cheung Chun-yuen said. The cases had been referred to the Independent Commission against Corruption.

A 59-year-old road worker was hit by a car and killed on Lin Cheung Road, Jordan, late on Friday night. A 24-year-old colleague was injured.
